Description
Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. It takes 60-90 minutes. Most of the time the incision is in the mouth and there will be no visible scars.
Jaw reduction surgery – remove triangular peace of the angle of the mandible.
V-line surgery is also a reduction surgery where chin and lower border are reduced.
Postoperative recovery
- Day 1-2: Cold compressions on the second day
- Week 1: The bandage is removed.
- Week 2: Decreased bruising, gradual decrease of swelling.
- Week 6: Normal sport activities if osteotomies were performed.
